Reagan (Dir. Sean McNamara; Starring Dennis Quaid and Jon Voight) Quaid takes on the role of Ronald Reagan in this biopic from the director of faith-based hit Soul Surfer. Now playing in theaters.

Good One (Dir. India Donaldson; Starring Lily Collias, James Le Gros) A 17-year-old girl goes on a hiking trip with her dad and his best friend that, according to the raves at Sundance and Cannes, veers into one masterfully tense psychological thriller. Now playing at the Belcourt.

Boogie Nights in 35mm (Dir. Paul Thomas Anderson; Starring Mark Wahlberg, Burt Reynolds, Julianne Moore) Few movies hold up as well as PT Anderson’s American epic about the highs and lows of the late-70s porn industry in the San Fernando Valley. A stone-cold masterpiece that begs to be seen in a theater on film. Now playing at The Belcourt.

Twister and Twisters in 4DX Not only was Twisters the movie of the summer, but experiencing it along with shaky seats, wind gusts, and water of questionable origin is hands-down one of the most memorable movie experiences one can have. See the original and its more-than-worthy sequel during this special Labor Day weekend presentation. Now playing at Regal Opry Mills and Regal Hollywood 27.

Across the River and Into the Trees (Dir. Pamela Ortiz; Starring Liev Schreiber) Hemingway’s last novel gets the movie treatment with Schreiber as a terminally ill army colonel who falls for a countess during his last wish duck hunting trip in Italy as WWII rages. Reviews indicate it's the weekend’s underdog. Now playing at AMC Thoroughbred 20, AMC Murfreesboro 16, and Regal Hollywood 27. 

City of Dreams (Dir. Mohit Ramchandani; Starring Ari Lopez) A Mexican boy finds his soccer dreams shattered when he is caught up in a web of human traffickers in the first official Sound of Freedom ripoff. At least it’s executive-produced by Tony Robbins. Now playing in theaters. 

1992 (Dir. Ariel Vromen; Starring Ray Liotta, Tyrese Gibson, Scott Eastwood). This crime saga set against the backdrop of the Rodney King riots features Tyrese as a dad trying to build a relationship with his son and Liotta (in his final role) as the mastermind behind a catalytic converter heist. Now playing in theaters. 

AfrAId (Dir. Chris Weitz; Starring John Cho, Katherine Waterston) Her meets Disney Channel's Smart House when a household A.I. program goes rogue in the latest horror film from Blumhouse. Now playing in theaters

Slingshot (Dir. Mikael Håfström; Starring Casey Affleck, Laurence Fishburne) Astronauts undergo psychological breakdowns on a decade-long mission to Saturn’s moon, Titan. Now playing in theaters. 

Shaun of the Dead in Dolby (Dir. Edgar Wright; Starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost) The best British zombie comedy ever made celebrates its 20th anniversary on the biggest screen possible. Now playing at AMC Thoroughbred 20. 

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Hannah Montana: The Movie @ Belcourt Midnights Nashville’s nonprofit arthouse offers David Lynch and Miley for your Labor Day weekend. 

Weekend Classics: Animal Kingdom @The Belcourt In conjunction with Cat Video Fest, The Belcourt has curated a series of the greatest animal movies ever made. This week brings Jurassic Park as well as the original Godzilla and King Kong.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Labor Day weekend has come to mean yet another bigscreen return for the boy wizard over the last three years. Now playing in theaters.

Take My Hand (Dir. John Raftopoulos; Starring Radha Mitchell) A London mother of three moves back home to Australia to contend with her MS diagnosis. Now playing at AMC Thoroughbred 20. 

You Gotta Believe (Dir. Ty Roberts; Starring Luke Wilson and Greg Kinnear) A ragtag team makes it to the 2002 Little League World Series after dedicating the season to a teammate’s dying father in this faith-based drama. Now playing in theaters.

Sight & Sound Presents Daniel Live A family-friendly filmed musical stage play that details the biblical story of Daniel. Now playing at AMC Thoroughbred 20 and Regal Theatres
