1999 @ The Belcourt Throughout June, The Belcourt offers twenty-five titles in celebration of the best movie year ever’s 25th anniversary. This week’s offerings include the 35mm print of Michael Mann’s can’t-miss corporate thriller The Insider, Alexander Payne’s caustic teen movie Hillary satire Election, Jim Jarmusch’s urban mystical action flick Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, and Wes Anderson’s breakout Rushmore. Also on tap are universal crowd-pleasers Toy Story 2 , Run Lola Run, and Office Space along with male machismo masterpieces Fight Club and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. Hands down the can’t-miss cinematic event of the summer. 

Flipside When a documentary filmmaker takes over the record store central to his New Jersey childhood, the result is the type of lyrical essay documentary we rarely get anymore. Somehow David Bowie, NPR’s Ira Glass, and Deadwood creator David Milch are involved. Now playing at the Belcourt.

Inside Out 2 Pixar hopes to restore its reputation by revisiting its crowning achievement as Riley’s emotions (Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling and Lewis Black) prepare for her teen years with a little help from new friend Anxiety (Maya Hawke). Disney needs a return to form. This could be it. Now playing in theaters.

Latency Rogue A.I. possesses a gamer trying to score some extra cash in one of the year’s worst-reviewed horror movies. Now playing at Regal Hollywood 27.

The Relentless Patriot A documentary that chronicles artist Scott LoBaido’s cross country journey to paint Old Glory and hold up traditional American values. Now playing at AMC Murfreesboro 16 and AMC Thoroughbred 20.
