The Wicker Man and The Devil’s Rain @ Belcourt Midnights The most iconic folk horror flick in film history gets a taped intro from historian Howard David Ingham, author of We Don't Go Back: A Watcher's Guide to Folk Horror on Friday. Saturday brings the cult hit that features Tom Skerritt and William Shatner facing off against the Satanic cult that’s hunted down their family for generations.
The Great Dictator (Dir. Charlie Chaplin) The silent comedy legend went after Hitler before America did in this farce that features the former Tramp as the titular dictator and a Jewish barber. Playing Saturday and Sunday at The Belcourt.
Janis Ian: Breaking Silence (Dir. Varda Bar-Kar) The latest overtly political music doc is on tap with a filmmaker Q&A led by NPR’s Ann Powers. Playing as part of The Belcourt’s Music City Mondays.
Thom Yorke & Mark Pritchard’s TALL TALES (Dir. Jonathan Zawada) The Radiohead frontman and record producer unleash, “a fairy tale for the modern world, depicting rising tides, kings and queens, Amazon logistics and robotic arms under iridescent skies.” Playing Thursday for one-night only at The Belcourt.
