Events for the Week of September 7th
Good morning everyone! I hope y'all are enjoying your punishingly hot Labor Day weekend. Here are some events around town this week:
Tonight Gena Britt's Bluegrass All-Star Night will be at The Station Inn. The lineup includes Aaron Ramsey (Dan Tyminski Band), Gena Britt (Sister Sadie), John Meador (Vince Gill), Stephen Burwell (Authentic Unlimited) and Jeff Partin (Bela Fleck: My Bluegrass Heart).
Every Tuesday The Eighth Room hosts Hooked, an extremely lively open mic contest with a rotating panel of A & R professionals. There is no cover!
California indie folk singer-songwriter Joe Kaplow is headlining The Basement Thursday night, and legendary rock band Little Feat's ambiguious farewell tour stops by Ryman Auditorium. Also Thursday, The Big Star Quintet are performing at Neuhoff District's River Steps last part of their free concert series.
Nashville based country folk musician Angela Autumn celebrates the release of her second album Believer at The Blue Room on Friday. RIYL: Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, Angel Olsen, Big Thief.
Brooks & Dunn are playing Bridgestone Arena on Saturday and beloved psychedelic electro-acoustic trio Bitchin Bajas will be performing at The Blue Room.
