Boring Co. digs in, and so do those who want to stand in their way.

From Megan Podsiedlik

Tunneling for The Boring Co.'s Music City Loop is underway, but TN Senator Charlane Oliver and Metro Councilmember Delishia Porterfield want you to throw yourself into the gravel pit and stop it. The state lawmaker who filed a resolution to express opposition to the Music City Loop at its conception and the local council member who has been chomping at the bit to condemn the company with a resolution have joined forces.

Oliver and Porterfield are holding a community meeting titled “Beneath the Surface: THE TRUTH ABOUT THE TUNNEL” at First Baptist Church tonight. The pair is asking supporters to back their resolutions while opposing state legislation to establish the Subterranean Transportation Infrastructure Coordination Authority because it “would allow Federal grants to go to Tesla tunnels when they should be paying for real transit system infrastructure.”

We know that Elon Musk is behind the Boring Co., but who is behind this movement? The event is being thrown by Transit Now Nash, which is also moonlighting as NoBoringAtBNA.org. It has partnered with WeGo and WalkBike Nashville. (By the way, the Transit Now Nash website gets flagged as insecure.)
